This page explains how NicheandNews decides what to publish, how we handle information, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Accuracy comes first
We report facts. We try to confirm each important claim with reliable sources before publishing, such as official statements, court filings, government data, and established news organizations. When a claim comes from a single source or has not been independently confirmed, we say so in the article.
How we credit sources
- We attribute information to where it came from, such as “police said” or “according to the Congressional Budget Office.”
- We use short quotes only when the exact words matter. Otherwise we explain things in our own words.
- We do not copy articles from other outlets.
Accusations and legal cases
Being arrested, charged or sued is not the same as being guilty. We use words like “alleged” and “accused” when they apply, and we note when someone denies a claim. We also follow up when a case changes.
Opinion and news
Our news stories stick to facts and do not take sides on political issues. We aim to describe different viewpoints fairly when a topic is contested.
Our use of technology
We may use AI tools to help research and draft articles. Articles are checked before they are published, and we are responsible for what appears on this site.
Corrections and updates
We correct mistakes quickly. When we fix a significant error, we update the article and add a note saying what changed. Breaking stories are marked as developing and updated as new details are confirmed.
To report an error, contact us with the article link and what you think is wrong.
Images
We use photos we have the right to use, such as images from free-license sources, and we credit the photographer where required. If you believe we used an image incorrectly, contact us and we will review it.
Independence
Our coverage decisions are made by our editorial team, not by advertisers or outside groups. If we ever accept sponsored content, we will label it clearly.
